How QuikWallpaper Works

QuikWallpaper operates entirely on your local Mac:

  • Wallpaper Downloads: The app downloads wallpapers directly from public APIs (Bing, NASA, Pexels) to your specified local folders
  • Local Storage: All wallpapers and metadata are stored in folders you specify on your Mac
  • API Keys: Any API keys you provide for NASA or Pexels are stored securely in your macOS Keychain and only used to authenticate with those services
  • No Cloud Sync: Nothing is uploaded to our servers or cloud services

Daily wallpaper images from Bing's public API. No account or API key required.

Important: When QuikWallpaper requests wallpapers from these services, they may log basic information like IP address and request time according to their own privacy policies. We have no control over this data collection.

Data Security

Since QuikWallpaper doesn't collect personal data, there's minimal security risk. However, we implement these security measures:

  • Secure API Storage: API keys are stored in macOS Keychain using Apple's secure storage system
  • Local Processing: All image processing and file management happens locally on your Mac
  • No Network Transmission: No personal data is transmitted over the internet
  • App Store Security: The app is distributed through the Mac App Store with Apple's security review

Your Rights and Control

You have complete control over your data:

  • Local Storage: You choose where wallpapers are stored on your Mac
  • Data Deletion: You can delete wallpapers and app data at any time
  • API Key Management: You can add, change, or remove API keys through the app preferences
  • App Removal: Uninstalling the app removes all app-related data

Children's Privacy

QuikWallpaper is safe for users of all ages. Since we don't collect any personal information, there are no special privacy concerns for children under 13. The app only downloads publicly available, family-friendly wallpaper images.
